Tim Feland

Tim Feland was born November 30, 1956, to Art and Marie (Cronin) Feland in Bismarck, ND.

At the age of four, he started roping and dragging calves with his dad, at the ranch. In junior high and high school, he competed in Little Britches in the calf roping and team roping divisions. In both 1973 and 1975, Tim was State High School Champion in calf roping.

Tim was awarded a full scholarship to Dawson College in Montana. He graduated in 1978, having competed in NDRA and Roughrider rodeos. He won the state in calf roping in 1977.

Tim went on to participate in Roughrider, NDRA, as well as NRCA (SD), and MRA (MN) rodeos. He won the state calf roping in 1983, 1984 and from 1987 through 1990. In 1985, Tim made the finals in Montana and finished in the top 10.

He filled his permit and got his PRCA card in 1985. That year, Tim was the PRCA Badlands Circuit Finals Calf Roping Champion and All-around Rookie of the Year.

Tim was Calf Roping Champion at Standing Rock in 1988 and 1989. He was Northern Plains Rodeo Association Calf Roping Champion in 1989, 1993 and 1994, and was the NDRA All-around Champion in 1989 and 1990. In 1984, Tim won the All-around Cowboy buckle at the HOTR Champions Ride by finishing first in team roping (paired with Bruce Birkeland, Sheyenne, ND) and third in calf roping.

From 1981-1985, Tim boarded horses, held roping schools and produced Team Roping and Barrel Racing events.

In 1993, Tim was chosen by Montana’s Senator Conrad Burns to entertain the El Patio guest ranch in Japan.

In 2006, Tim was the World champion Tie down roper in the Senior Pro Rodeo Association.

At present, Tim works a roping camp for winter visitors in Maricopa, Arizona.
