Jim Chamley
Legacy Award
Inducted 2022
Jim Chamley was born in the northwest corner of North Dakota, and raised on a ranch at White Earth. He graduated from high school in Stanley. Although he migrated to other parts of the country, eventually settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jim maintained strong ties to North Dakota.
Jim is the founder and managing partner of Chamley Financial Services. Many of his clients are NFR contestants, stock contractors, vendors and fans. Since 1967, Jim has traveled annually to the NFR, in both Oklahoma City and Las Vegas, to serve his clients.
Jim has been affiliated with the rodeo world all his life. He served on the National Little Britches Rodeo Association Board for five years, and for more than a decade managed and produced their National Finals Rodeo. For 22 years, Jim produced the Pikes Peak Celebrity Golf Tournament & Rodeo, with all proceeds going directly to the aid of abused children, through various organizations in Colorado Springs.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Youth National Finals Rodeo, belongs to the Rodeo Historical Society in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and is a member of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame, the White Earth Valley Saddle Club, the Pikes Peak Range Riders, the ProRodeo Hall of Fame, and is a past board member of the Kit Carson Riding Club.
Due to his Christian faith, cowboy mentality, and financial background, Jim united with Cowboy Christian Connection as a Servant of Leadership. Jim has served as judge for several state rodeo queen contests and the Miss Rodeo America Contest.
In 2010, Jim joined the Board of Directors of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame, serving as President from 2015-2020. Jim led by example, offering his vast financial knowledge and wisdom rooted in faith and life-experience. Always humble, always kind.
Under Jim’s innovative leadership and generous dedication, the North Cowboy Hall of Fame achieved significant growth in memberships and financial support and is now a viable and strong organization committed to preserving North Dakota’s western culture.
Jim and his wife Gail now live in Gold Canyon, Arizona, but can often be found in North Dakota, actively working with clients, visiting friends, and continuing their support of the NDCHF mission.
For his inspiration and enthusiastic commitment, Jim Chamley is honored in this Hall.
Please show your appreciation for Jim Chamley, recipient of the 2022 Legacy Award.
